Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Virginia

Creditor stating invalid balances

Can you demand validation from a creditor after the 30 day dispute time he gives are up? I find that the amount was grossly inflated by the original utility company and that all of my deposits had not been credited as promised. This bill has been reported to a CRA. Is there any recourse for me now?

Yes, you can submit your side of the story to each of the three major credit reporting agencies(up to 250 words)and then submit your adjusted accounting of the claimed debt to the creditor with an offer to settle for that amount.
