Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Virginia

Can I stop this garnishment

My pay is being garnished by a credit card company and it is being administered by the New York State Marshal's office. I moved from that state over 7 years ago, and never received any notice. Can this be stopped?

Re: Can I stop this garnishment

Yes, you should move to vacate or set aside the judgment which now serves as the basis for the garnishment of your wages on the grounds that you never received proper notice of the lawsuit. Whether this court that entered the judgment against you apparently without proper notice is in Virginia or New York, that's where you'll have to go to get the judgment set aside and the garnishment released.
