Legal Question in Criminal Law in Virginia

need help, boyfriend is being wrongfully held.

boyfriend is accused of holding someone by knife point, he doesn't own a knife and was with at the home of some friends. he was advised by the cops not to use the friends as witnesses cause they have records. my boyfriend doesn't have a criminal record. and the police did not find evidence. 2/3 people accusing my boyfriend would be admitting of violating parole, if they go through it. because the alleged altercation happened past their curfew and the two are supposed to be separated. the other is an 80yr woman who isn't allowed to drive at night, due to poor vision. is there a way to contact their parole officer? or anything that would help my bf? the friends that my bf was with are also related to 2/3 of the witnesses. so its a mess of one side of the family vs the other, with one bystander in the middle.

Re: need help, boyfriend is being wrongfully held.

Your boyfriend is very much in need of competent defense counsel to represent him. If he doesn't have one already and cannot afford to hire such on his own, he should ask the court to appoint him a lawyer ASAP. (Your boyfriend, needless to say, would also be well advised to listen and heed the advice of this attorney rather than the cops when it comes to assessing the value of possible witnesses or in regard to any other matters in his case.)
