Legal Question in Criminal Law in Virginia

statute of limitations

What is the statute of limitations in Virginia for vandalism? Someone vandalized my car in 2007 and it cost me thousands of dollars but I tried to handle the issue with my insurance company, I didnt realize that I needed to talk to the police until now. Is it too late?
