shoul i get a lawyer

I fired a gun into the air in public in the state of virginia and was charged with brandishing/pointing a fire arm and shooting in a public place. Would I serve jail time for that? It was a class 1 misdameaner.

Yes, it's a jailable offense (which doesn't mean that you're necessarily going to jail), but that you should have a lawyer representing you in this criminal matter.
