Legal Question in Criminal Law in Virginia

I am working at a gas station. there is a boy who admitted to stealing money but is also trying to say that he split me money with me. they are wanting both of us to go take a polygraph test, he was the one they caught on tape they have nothing concerning me except for his word. and his history is not good, he has been in a mental instatution and his last job got caught stealing medication from elder persons that he worked with. polygraph test are not always accurate, and i did not do it what should i do?

You have the Constitutional right to not incriminate yourself by making ANY kind of statement including but not limited to and interview and/or a polygraph, My suggestion is that you say nothing at all. If they charge you and truly the only evidence is his word, then you can contest it in court. But do not make it worse by providing them with additional evidence of any kind.
