Legal Question in DUI Law in Virginia

In June 2010 I was arrested for a DWI. This arrest happend on Federal grounds and the Natonal Park Police made the arrest. My citations were under 36 CFR 4.23. Yesterday I had all other charges dropped except for the DWI and placed on Probation for a year. My question is this "Will this information be sent to my Virginia DMV and my insurance company"? My understanding is that since this was a federal violation the State would not be informed. Although if I refused a breathlyzer it would be an automatic license suspension. My conviction goes on my criminal record and not my driving record, please advise, thanks!!

Yes, you should expect the record of your DWI convcition in federal court

to be sent to the Virginia DMV but not your insurance carrier. However, your

insurance carrier will then likely pick up on it when they periodically check

your record with the DMV which they will inevitably do.
