Not Legally Separated & Child Support

My husband and I are separated (not legally) we have agreed upon amount of child support for him to pay per the worksheet online. Can we go to court and have this legal? Or do we need to go thru DCSE?

Yes, if the amount of the child support which you've agreed to accords with the Virginia Child Support Guidelines, it could be formalized either

in a consent order through the local Juvenile & Domestic Relations District Court or in an administrative order through the DCSE.
