Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

Relocation

My wife has sole custody of her son, and we were living in the state of Maine. I am in the military and got relocated to Virginia. The father has taking her back to court to get visitation rights. Can she change the location of the case to the state of Virginia so she doesn't have to travel back and forth to Maine.

Re: Relocation

Yes, your wife can file a motion with the court in Maine which has jurisdiction over the matters of custody and visitation to transfer them to the Juvenile & Domestic Relations District Court in Virginia where she currently resides.
