Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Virginia

When I was 12 my Aunt gave me a stock with mine and my gaurdians name on it. My guardian then turned around and sold the stock for herself. I am now 18 and wanting to know if there is anything legally I can do about it?

May depend on how the stock was held. I would have to assume it was held for your benefit in joint name. If you have a meritorious claim, you would likely need to get a suit filed soon if the guardian will not pay you. Probably a good idea to assess the value of the stock at the time of sale and the present value of the same stock. You should consider getting an attorney to help you. Feel feel free to contact us if you need further help or a referral. Good luck.
