Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Virginia

A technician came to my home ot fix my washer 3 months ago. THe same problem is occuring again and the part was under warranty. The Tech came back out and said it was a different problem and I told him that it wasn't worth fixing. Then he tried to charge me a $65 diagnostic fee and I advised him that they never told me about a fee just for comong out. THe tech left and did not put the washer back together like he found them and took some of my parts with him. Is this against the law?

Quite possibly, yes. Have them give you everything in writing, including the invoices. If a well-worded letter and/or BBB can't help you (in my experience, they are not very pro-consumer), you might consider filing a claim in small claims court. Good luck.
