Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Virginia
Landlord Selling Property to Big Box Store
Landlord is in negotiations to sell property that we are leasing in to a big box store. We are in a lease to the end of 2009, but they are already talking about tearing the building down by next May. What are my rights as a tenant in good standing?

Re: Landlord Selling Property to Big Box Store
Any buyer of the property where you are now a tenant would take title subject to your current lease and would be required to honor the provisions of your lease in the same manner that your previous landlord would've been required to.
