Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Virginia

Move out fees from an apartment community

I receive a charge upon moving out of my apartment. I have a copy of my lease and some of the charges are false. The place was brand new and they charge for the hood of the oven to be clean. I dont cook! I have contacted the BBB and disputed this on my credit report. How do I get this to go away! No one at the corporate office will call me. I bet that the community doesn't even have my file any more after almost 7 yrs. There were also no pictures taken to prove that there was an issue. Please help!

Re: Move out fees from an apartment community

If you've provided your version of the facts with the three major credit reporting agencies, after seven years, I'd say that's probably about all that you can do at this point, and, hopefully, within another three years(if not sooner) or so the adverse item will no longer be reported.
