Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Virginia

I rent a home and have a lease.The lease only allows for my son and I to stay here.My father-in-law moved in March and now will not leave.He signed a 30 day notice that he would move out on the 21 of october. If he does not do I have the right to have the police remove him on the 22 or can he stay here indefenatly. Since he gave his 30 notice does that not meane he is trespassing when he does not leave when it ends?

You may find that you have to pursue regular tenant eviction procedures through your local general district court in order to have him removed.
