Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Virginia

Virginia, Disclosure of Crime on Property

I recently moved into an apartment in Alexandria, and neighbors told me that a breaking & entering/assault/attempted murder happened there just weeks before then. The apartment management said nothing about it. Is it Virginia law that my landlord must disclose crimes that happened at my apartment?

Re: Virginia, Disclosure of Crime on Property

No, only if a prospective tenant specifically asked the landlord about such matters would the landlord then be obligated to truthfully disclose the crimes which allegedly may have occurred in the rental unit.
