Legal Question in Medical Malpractice in Virginia

Unnecessary Surgery

I went to the ER for severe stomach pain a couple of weeks ago and they ran all these tests and X-rays and CT scan and said that my appendix had ruptured and I needed emergency surgery. So I had the surgery and stayed in the hospital. Well when I went back for my pot-op check up the doctor say, '' I sent your appendix to the pathologist and he said that there was nothing wrong with your appendix at all.'' So I was like well why did you take it. So now I still have the original pain and I have been out of work and school for a week because of this. So I am wondering is this a malpractice case?

Re: Unnecessary Surgery

It could well be (malpractice) but many more facts would be needed in order to make a credible

determination on this issue.
