Legal Question in Personal Injury in Virginia

Right to change your mind

My daughter recently signed off with her lawyer after settling her case and then found out that he had important information that the medical insurance company would be coming after some of it, even though the he had said they were not during the settlement negotiations. Now her net, is much smaller and I feel he was negligent in not disclosing that he had received a letter back in May from the insurance hired recovery company. The lawyer should receive her signed document tomorrow. Does she have any set number of days that she can change her mind on this legal document? I feel he should be responsible for that cost.

Re: Right to change your mind

If your daughter disagrees with the settlement that was obtained, she should contact her lawyer ASAP and inform him that she's changed her mind

and that he is not to go forward with the settlement as things now stand.
