Legal Question in Personal Injury in Virginia

A Federal express truck backed into my car and caused it to run over me. An accident report was filed stating that the driver was 100% at fault. I had some injuries, but none that were life threating. I had no broken bones just some muscle and tissue damage. I was told by my Doctor to limit my work to allow time for healing. I was not able to miss work because of financial obligations. Fedex told me when my medical problems were healed to call and they would make me a settlement offer. Is there some kind of guide line to go by to determine the amount I should ask for?
