Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Virginia

Home owners Association

Can the Board of Officers of the HOA take it upon themselves to paint yellow lines on the main road coming into the street where for 28 years has been used for visitor parking? We have two parking spaces alloted in front of each unit for our own vehicles. This road is maintained by the association. This was not voted on by the Homeowners.

Re: Home oowners Association

If the road is part of the condo property and has

been maintained by the association for the last 28 years, there's a high probability that the

bylaws give the board the authority to do what you've described without putting the matter to a vote of the homeowners.

You need to review your HOA bylaws for a starter.
