Re: Options

You may file a complaint to the Virginia state department of human rights in Richmond. However, this agency is curently backlogged.. Normally, I will attempt to resolve the issue via a mutually beneficial settlement with the company pre-litigation. Most small companies will settle claims if confronted with a legitimate claim of sexual harassment.

Re: Options

The law basically recognizes two kinds of sexual

harassment in the workplace: (1). the so-called

quid pro quo(where sexual favors are solicited or demanded from employees by higher-ups) or(2). the hostile work environment created by supervisors'

direct actions vis a vis employees, or actions by

co-workers which the employer knew about(or should've known)---and, nonetheless, tolerated.

You should consult with qualified counsel to determine which kind is applicable to your employment situation in order to be able to fully assess what your options really are or may be.
