Legal Question in Traffic Law in Virginia

I made a u-turn at an intersection w/a newly posted "No U-Turn" sign in a part of town with a slightly modified traffic pattern due to road construction going on (no work was going on at the time/it was a Saturday) - I have photos of the "No U-turn" sign w/the yellow "New" sign undreneath it, along w/pictures of the ongoing construction & traffic cones...

I didn't put anyone in danger, it just happens that a cop was nearby & saw me make the turn - I was hoping for a warning, but ended up w/a ticket...

Not sure what the fine is - do you think it's worth pleading my case in front of the judge...?

Sure, why not? (The ticketing cop may not even appear on the hearing date--for whatever reason--which could lead to a case dismissal.)
