Can one heir remove themselves from part of estate because of sibling rivalry?

First, remember that no one is an "heir" until the owner ("testator") dies. That's because things can change.

However, an heir can "disclaim" their inheritance, meaning that they refuse to take it.

But the effect of this is to let their own children take the inheritance instead of the parent. So the inheritance woudl skip the parent who disclaims his inheritance.
