poa

my sister passed away, and i was her poa. am i responsible for her outstanding debt?

No, you are not. However, if you inherit money from your sister's estate, her debts should be paid first before you receive what is left.

Also, the POA terminates at her death. If she had a will, the executor (Administrator) named in the will needs to go to the Clerk of the Court and "qualify" (get sworn in) to start serving as Adminstrator.

If she did not have a will, a close relative needs to do this.
