Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Virginia

No way to win

What do you do when you do not have the resources available to you in the area in which an attorney is needed. My husband hired an attorney in our little area 6 months ago to protect his interest in his parents will/trust and this attorney who began the case like a lion has now become a lamb and doesn't seem to be doing what he was hired to do. I.E. He has not even made a sibling turn over the original will. We have copies out the ying-yang,but this one sibling wants the whole ball of wax and so far, she is succeeding. There is so much to this saga but I don't have enough 'characters' to give details.

The Virginia State Bar regulates lawyers in Virginia. If you believe your lawyer is not behaving ethically or fufilling his or her professional responsibility, you should call the Virginia State Bar office in Richmond to discuss the propriety of your lawyer's handling of your case.

If you are not able to afford an attorney, you may qualify for free (pro bono) or reduced fee services from an organization such as Legal Services Corporation or Legal Aid or a panel lawyer in private practice who has agreed to assist those organizations. You can find those organizations on the web or by calling the local bar association or the Virginia State Bar.

If your attorney's initial lion's mane has now seemingly turned to the fuzzy wuzzy of the lamb seeking settlement, it's probably time for you to remember who has hired whom----and to take action, accordingly.

And, no, you don't need any permission to fire the whom---without any explanation or apology.
