Legal Question in Workers Comp in Virginia

to file a claim

If you have an injury and the company's w/c insurer pays your doctor bills and loss time wages, does that mean I filed a workers comp claim? or do I have to do file a claim myself to be veiwed as filed a claim?

You must file a claim yourself, within 2 years of the date of accident.

Dear Sir:

No, that does not mean you have filed a claim. You must file a claim with the Virginia Workers Compensation Commission within two years of the accident.
