Injury at work
My finger was smashed in a machine at work the middle of March. I had to have surgery to remove bone fragments and still have pain and loss of feeling in my fingertip. I missed two days from work due to pain, and the company counted these days against me on my personal record. I was just wondering if I was eligible for any compensation for pain and suffering?

Dear Sir: In order to get compensation for lost time due to a work related injury, you must lose more than 7 days. You cannot get pain and suffering for a work place injury but if you have suffered perm injury to your finger, you can get compensation for that if it is a ratable loss. For example, the doc says you suffered a 50% loss of the finger.
You need to ask the doctor this and then file a claim for this with the VA Workers Comp Commission if there is a ratable loss.
