Legal Question in Appeals and Writs in Washington

wage ganishments

We won 2 judgements for breach of contract and we have the abstracts also. I need to know what I need to do to serve these, to whom I need to serve them and if I HAVE to have a lawyer to sign the application for writ and the writ itself. Please let me know what all needs to be done and if I can do this myself! Thank

Re: wage ganishments

As a citizen, you have the right to do everything yourself for yourself.

Anyone 18 or over who is competent can serve. Attorneys usually use service companies - it costs about $50 - $75 per person if the person is easy to find. You need to file an affidavit of service (or acceptance of service if you get someone to accept service in writing) with the court.

I suggest you go to a public library to look up the information.

Or, do a google search and you'll find a lot of selfhelp legal information for WA state.

The WA State Supreme Court website also has forms and some limited information.

Good luck.
