Legal Question in Business Law in Washington

Roommate refuses to pay

Before I move in with current roommate,I verbally agreed to her that I would pay half for the cable and telephone.I was going to buy TV but I decided not to. She wrote down the date and time without telling me. My roommate and I weren't getting along. I work late which I decided that I will cancel the cable. She became very mean and rude. It made me tired of dealing and sharing anything with her.I started not wanting to share anything with her. I told her that Im thinking of canceling the phone as well.I gave her and gave her options of what she can do.This is what she has to say ''I informed you that I AM NOT GOING TO PAY FOR TWO ACTIVATION FEES so do not give me a cable bill because I have my own activation and cable bill to pay.I do not want anything to do with the phone line or bill because I have my own separate Adelphia cable bill to pay once it's activated but because you canceled and changed our agreement I was then forced to set up my own adelphia account do not come to me with any bills other than the utilities bill. Do not give me a copy of any other bills because you changed our agreement.''Is it my fault that I decided to cancel the cable and also the phone? I just don't want to share anything with her anymore.

Re: Roommate refuses to pay

If you changed the agreement, then you have to live with the consequences of that change. You're better off with your own telephone and cable anyway. Remain independent and you will have a lot less worry and headaches.
