Legal Question in Criminal Law in Washington

''Driving While License Suspended 3rd Degree''

I was recently denied employment because a background check revealed I was convicted of driving while license suspended 11/2/1995. Shouldn't this have gone off my record by now? Thanks.

Re: ''Driving While License Suspended 3rd Degree''

Traffic violations will not appear on a driving record after 3 years for insurance companies and after 5 years for employeres. However, a background check is an inquiry into your criminal history. Criminal convictions, both traffic and non traffic, are accessible to any public inquiry unless they have been vacated.

To review whether you are eligible to have the DWLS conviction vacated, review the requirements on my website (follow link in my LawGuru profile).
