Subpoena of a minor

I have a minor foster child who was subpoena'd to testify against another foster child. Is he required to go.

Re: Subpoena of a minor

The parties and the court have the power to subpeona witnesses. This includes family relations (although in some circumstances there is a protective privilege against testifying like with spouses). However, if a witness does not wish to appear the question can become delicate as to what the likely consequence of not appearing will be. This depends in great part on how the subpeona was served and what communication has occurred with the court and the party submitting the subpeona.
