Legal Question in DUI Law in Washington

Need DUI info

My son who is licensed to drive and lives in Oregon, got pulled over, field sobriety tested and arrested for DUI in Washington state. He refused the breath test. What can we expect? Will it affect his Oregon license? Does washington have a diversion program like oregon does?

He can expect a one year ODL suspension for refusing the test. WA will let OR know about the suspension. OR, will then also suspend the ODL for a year.

I do believe that WA does have a diversion agreement. Also, WA. does allow for pleas to lesser charges, something OR does not allow.

Good luck.
