Did my lawyer do his job?

Last year I got a dwi.I just found out that the date of violation on my summons to appear was one year off.Also the cop that ran the b.a. machine had a expired certification,(1 of 2 required)My lawyer won''t call me back to discuss the issue.He told me beforehand he would check for loopholes.Do I grounds to pursue this further with him?

Normally, the things that you mention would have been checked during the course of your lawyer's representation of you. I would need to know more specifics about your case and its facts. How did you discover these issues? When were they discovered? There are simply too many missing facts to give you an answer.
