Re: Guardianship

You need to contact Gary Preble in Olympia. He is one of the best for dependency action issues.

You are entitled to a public defender in a dependency action. If you were in inpatient then your absence was reasonable, but you have to tell the court what happened.

If you are in a third party action, you really need counsel and it won't be provided for you. But this is your life- and your child's life - so do what you need to do to get the help you need.

You can find any licensed Washington attorney at wsba.org. You can also look for the Tacoma Pierce County Bar Association on line, they have a family law clinic if money is an issue. Hope this helps. Elizabeth Powell
