Legal Question in Family Law in Washington

I have a show cause hearing set to determine child support. The show cause documents were mailed, regular mail, not certified. They were in my mail box for a week as I was on vacation to be exact. The lawyer who answered my question told me to go to an RCW RCW 26.09.175(2)(a). That states I was to be mailed with return reciept. If that was not the type of mail I was given, does that mean I was NOT served properly?

You are correct. I missed that you were served by "regular post". You have not been served and the other person will not be able to give proof of service to the court. (I assume from it being in your home mailbox for a week that there was no one there who accepted it.)
