Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Washington

A Van towed from our residence, who is responsible for this tow fee?

I have lived here for two years and though the tabs were not current I was under the impression that being on private proberty it was not up for a city street law inforcement to come and have it removed. I also thought being that we pay rent at this apartment complex, that we are paying for the security of vehicals to be found in the morning, being that it was registered to this address. Now I have in one day a tow fee of $277.00.

The District court has a form (ans so does the tow company) you can use to request a hearing to contest the tow.

1. Was the parking lot signed?

2. Did your landlord give you any notice whatsoever that they were going to tow?

3. What does your contract say about extra vehicles?

Chances are that your landlord could do this lawfully.

Hope this helps - Elizabeth
