Legal Question in Medical Malpractice in Washington

Post-Operative Infection

Patient had a cyst removed from his foot.. On day five red streaks were visble.The Podiatrist prescribed CiPro but took no culture. The medication had no effect on the staph infection. Liability?

I have to assume from your post that you believe the problem is that the doctor gave you antibiotics without determining what the type of bacteria was. Off the top of my head I would have to say probably not, but it would be worth your calling a Washington Malpractice lawyer to find out. You could probably get an opinion over the phone.

The other issues in the case will be 1. What are the extent of your damages due to the infection and 2. did the use of the chosen antibiotic cause these problems.

My suggestion is call someone in Washington.
