Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Washington

Removal of Trust Funds

I assist my elderly aunt with her finances,I am on her checking account and pay her bills. She is now living in a nursing home. My father has power of attorney over her trust. My father has removed significant ($500,000) funds from this trust and placed the funds in his own account. Is this legal for him to do? How should I handle this transfer?

Re: Removal of Trust Funds

To address the issue that you posed, there would need to be a document review. That would include analysis of the trust agreement and any other estate conservation or estate planning documents. Without knowing exactly what the trust documents permit, it is not possible to tell if there have been any violations of those instruments. If you wish assistance with this, please call for an initial meeting, for which there will be no charge for my time.
