Legal Question in Criminal Law in Wisconsin

I had my rental car for 9 months. I was recently pulled over and told the car was reported stolen. The rental car company never sent any notices that these actions would be taken. As a matter of fact, I didn't even receive one "late" call instructing me to return. I knew it was late but honestly just was letting the bill run up. I was arrested for operating a vehicle without owners consent, booked, and released and "ordered in" to see the D.A. on July 1. What should I do? Call Hertz? Have a lawyer WITH me at the order in? Help me please! I DIDN'T PLAN ON REALLY KEEPING IT "FOREVER".

You should get a lawyer. OMVOC is a felony in Wisconsin. Hertz and the DA's office are obviously treating the situation seriously, so you should as well. There are potential defenses to OMVOC in this situation. You really need a lawyer to review the entire matter to find out how strong your defense is.
