Legal Question in Criminal Law in Wisconsin

Please help me

I'm scared to go to jail because I was caught stealing 14 counts of money while as a cashier. The total added up to $2870.00 and now I'm scared what will happen to me. They haven't sent me a court date yet. This started since Feb. 5th, 2009 til April 11th, 2009 when they caught me on camera. I told them I'm very sorry for what I have done. I've even agreed to pay them back and also admit to the stealing. Please help

Jail sentences in financial crimes are often based upon how great the net financial loss to the victim is at the time you are finally sentenced. Therefore, if you pay your employer back before sentencing, you might avoid a long jail sentence, since the net financial loss will then become nonexistent. You need to retain an experienced criminal lawyer as soon as possible, who will probably try to get a plea bargain for you based upon "up front" restitution payment by you. Your lawyer may also spot defenses to your charges which are not immediately apparent to you, such as the lawfulness of the surveillance and interrogations which the authorities used to build their case against you. My general comments in this online forum are not intended as legal advice for you, nor do I know enough about your case to provide any intelligent advice. Rather, you need to retain your own lawyer or, if you cannot afford a private lawyer, request that that the court appoint one for you.
