Judgement payments

If a business files a small claims complaint and a judgement is in place. When payments are made, accepted and cashed but not applied to balance of judgement, is there any legal recourse, other than the credit of these payments.

Payments on a Judgement Not Being Credited

Payment is always a defense to any collection action. Any time a debtor can prove to the court that they have made a payment, the court will require the judgment creditor to reduce their remaining claim. Aside from that, anyone with financial problems should speak with an experienced bankruptcy attorney as soon as possible, since he may offer better solutions for you than quibbling with creditors over lost payments.
