Legal Question in Traffic Law in Wisconsin

Hello, I have a question regarding a speeding ticket. I just received a speeding ticket in San Diego, California while visiting. I have a Wisconsin driver's license. I'm wondering how this will affect my points on my license. I have 1 point left on my license and I'm worried because of the California ticket I will loose my license now. If you could please help, or have any advice I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.

While they may or may not carry WI points, out of state moving violations can still affect your WI license sometimes and can definitely effect your car insurance rates. You should therefore get a local attorney in San Diego to get you the best possible deal without spending too much on the defense. In most cities, you should be able to do that for under $200. If you have had a WI moving violation conviction within the last year or two, you should also consult with a WI attorney about any possible risks to your license.

Do not assume that I am your attorney due to this answer, but feel free to call my office in Racine (262-633-3090 or email [email protected]) for clarifications or further questions. Otherwise, I would not be taking any further action on your case. See me on the web at www.jayknixonlaw.com.
