What constitutes default? If I am late with a pyment can I lose my land?

Yes. Wyoming is one of the few states in the nation that have strict default rules on contracts for deeds. It depends on the language of your contract, but basically, you can pay on time all the way to the last payment, miss the deadline, and loose everything.
