Legal Question in Consumer Law in India

I filed a case in consumer court in delhi, and it's first hearing for feasibility that case is valid for discussion/further processing or not is soon. After giving all paper i realized that i demanded a very less compensation from opposite party, and he can delay in processing, sometimes by not presenting in hearing date. and objective of filing case will become waste. Can i request consumer court in first discussion to increase the compensation. Because i feel now that this case can go upto 5-6 Yrs in consumer court, as court are finalizing cases of 2008 now.

if i can request them to increase then what would would be the process.

Please guide..

if you want to change the compensation amount then you will have to amend the petition. these things cannot be done verbally

Dear Sir / Madam,

You are entitled to file an addendum anytime before the first hearing takes place in the Court. No sooner the first hearing takes place, if you then wish to revise the compensation claim, you will need the concurrence of the Arbitrator / Judge hearing the matter thereto.
