Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in India

I found in CIBIL report that there is a high outstanding in my credit card account which I used during 7 years back and it appears in the CIBIL Report that the account was written off. I have settled the amount during 2006. But I do not have any records at present. However I have forwarded dispute resolution to CIBIL to remove it from the report. There is no demand notice from the card company during this 7 year period. After the Card company received my dispute resolution , today the company is asking me over phone to repay the outstanding. Is it right?
