Good morning,

There is no "divorce", properly saying, under the Maronite rules, but what we call a cancelation of marriage ابطال زواج, meaning that you will need to find reasons existing at the date of the marriage to dissolve the marriage.

Based on the above related facts you can apply for the dissolution based on the incapacity of your husband to hold the responsibilities of the family: he's lasy and relies on you instead of taking the responsibility to improve himself.

Your girl being 2 years old will be under your custody and he will have the right to visit her and accompany her from time to time,

You can also claim for compensations; and the civil court will rule on your common properties, should you have: house, car, bank account, furniture, etc

Fom the other hand, and as we understand he is violent with you, and therefore, you might need to issue a protection order in order to have him moving out from home and forbid him to get close to you during and after the divorce process.

In all case you would need to share more details with us for more accurate advices, you can communicate with us at the following email: [email protected]
