Legal Question in Family Law in India

I would like to ask your opinion if it is advisable to apporach the Police first by a girl who is currently being disturbed and blackmailed by her Ex boyfriend.
The guy seems to threaten her by calling her friends and family members and is also claiming her to be her wife.
Though they both have been in love since their college days and had exchanged few letteres and gifts and even visted the guys place when no one was available however nothing much happened in terms of sex.
However the guy claims that she is her wife and would not leave her to live her peacefully. She is also ready to do a virginity test if needed.
Please advice the best possible solution to handle this issue.

See if you can't convince him, you hv to take the help of police today or tomorrow. The matter should be nipped in the bud.

First inform him that you have to approach police and he will loose your friendship also.

If he convinced then O.K,

else approach any local lawyer who can do counselling between both of you,

even then if not convinced then you may approach the police .
