Legal Question in Family Law in Alabama

OK here goes....I am currently in the middle of a divorce that has been going on since Feburary and I am seeing someone who is also going through a divorce. We have been seperated for over a year and just now got the monwy to file the divorce papers. His wife keeps calling my soon to be ex-husband and his step-mom and dad and telling them things about me like everytime I go to my boyfriends house or what I have said and even when we go out to eat. She isn\'t doing anything directly to me but it is directed at me. I am going to school working on a bachelor degree in legal studies and this sounds to me like I could file charges against her for harassment. Just wanted to see what you thought I could do to stop her from doing this??

If she is not doing anything directly to you, you cannot charge her with harassment. My advice would be that both you and your boyfriend get your divorces finalized as quickly and as quietly as possible, because a divorce trial could go very badly for the two of you. Rather than try to get his wife arrested and further inflame the situation, he needs to get her signature on a divorce agreement and move on. Same for you.

Good luck to you. If we can be of assistance, please feel free to call.
