Legal Question in Family Law in Alabama

I live in AL, in the same city where my ex-husband lives, but I am moving to California at the end of December. What can I do to protect myself legally since my 7 year old son will (obviously) be moviing with me?

You have to give a 45 day written notice to your ex-husband under the Alabama Relocation Act. This requires it be written and that you give the residential and mailing address and telephone number where you will live if known. Also the name of the school the child will attend, as well as the address and telephone number. A statement of the specific reason for the relocation of residence and a proposed revised schedule of visitation with the child must be included. If you do not have some of the information, it must be provided within 10 days by certified mail once it is obtained.
