Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Alabama

roommate evictions

I have a roommate not on a lease or anyway connected to this house, I am the only the only one on the title for this house. She is not paying towards rent, food, or any other utilities. I have mentioned this but she is unable to make her own bills on time so I haven't asked for any. I told her two months ago that we are not getting along and she needs to go. We had another argument last night and I told her she has a week. She refuses to leave and called the police for verification. They told me I could not just kick her out. She has lived here about two months and I can't afford to let her live off of me. She has family to go to in another state but refuses. I guess my questions would be...

I was told me I had to evict her but what grounds do I use?

How Do I serve her with eviction notice and how long do I have to give her?

What rights does she have in my house?

Can I set rules and in my house as far as drugs and alcohol?

Can I forbid friends of hers from entering my house.

Can you please give me references ie. section and or title for laws or codes.

Thank you for all your assistance

Re: roommate evictions

Give her a written notice to leave within 10 days.

If she does not, go down to the courthouse and post a bond, they will tell you how much.

Then call the sheriffs office and follow their instructions.
