Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Alabama

We have kept a piece of equipment in our warehouse for almost three years as a favor to a personal aquaintance. Initially the piece of equipment was supposed to be picked up within a week. We have asked the owner repeatedly to come get it to no avail. The owner has sold the business and we do not know who the new owner is. The business was sold approximately six months ago and we still have not heard from the new owner about this piece of equipment. What are our rights concerning this piece of equipment? Can we sell the piece of equipment to recover our warehouse expense for the last three years?

Look at 32-12-1, COde of Alabama 1975 and the statutes that follow that. You can take and sell the property, but only under the method laid out by the statute. Read it and good luck
